How to use and contribute

You can see a list of organizations, along with a summary of their ratings. You can quickly search and sort this list to find organizations by (partial) name, those in a particular geography, or those that are highest or lowest rated.

Click on any organization to see details about that organization, and to see the ratings and comments written by others. Comments voted most useful are shown first, and those voted least useful are shown last.

You can search for organizations, by name, location (city, state, country), contact information (email, phone, website, twitter), type, about, people involved, clients served, services offered, and more. You can also do a full-text search here.

You can add a comment and/or rate an organization at the bottom of each organization’s page. Comments from users without an account and from first-time commenters are held for moderation to help us avoid spam, in which case it may take a little time for your comment to appear.

You don’t need to register or provide your email address to comment or rate, but if you do your karma (voted reputation on this site) will be tracked, and your comments will get your karma by default. If you have an account, you can vote others’ comments up and down. You can also receive email notifications for future comments, even if you don’t have an account.

You can add a new organization. You don’t need to register first to do this, but if you do you’ll be able to edit it in the future. Please only write factual information in the organization details; subjective opinion should be put into individual comments on that organization. New organizations are published after they’ve been approved by a moderator.

You can register with either an email and password, or with your Twitter account. This lets you vote on comments, and edit your organizations, ratings, and comments. You can also subscribe to updates, and link to your WordPress.com account. If you register with Twitter, you can add your email afterwards for notifications. Alternatively, if you register with email, you can connect your Twitter account afterwards.

If you’d like to edit information for an organization, you can leave a comment on its page, or use the form below to contact us. If you are a representative of an organization, please register. We can then have that organization assigned to your account, so you can edit it in the future.

For those that would like to get more involved, we always need moderators, who can help keep the information on this site accurate and up-to-date. Moderators can approve and edit all organizations, and approve comments from anonymous and first-time users. Use the contact form below to let us know if you’d like to help.

Finally, if you think this site is useful, we would really appreciate if you can link to us from your website. That will help us get the maximum visibility for the information on this site, and help information here show up in Google searches on organizations.
